In 2006 I decided to take up photography and I was pretty bad - but hey - we all start somewhere, right? :) With that said, I knew I was bad but I also knew I was determined and I was determined to learn as much as I could. With that said, I dove in deep and I mentored under some amazing photographers and industry insiders. I shot anything and every thing I could...learning from every situation I was in. I would challenge myself with depth's of fields, lighting conditions (or lack of), composition, etc.. From the beginning, I challenged myself to shoot in manual mode so I would have complete, creative control over my images. I mean cameras have some bad ass auto controls but there is something about creating your own image and producing the exact art that you have in your head vs. shooting the camera, in auto mode, and hoping the exposure gives you what you wanted. I have had many opportunities over the years and I am so grateful for all of them and here it is, over a decade later and I am blessed to have the most amazing clients and to photograph people for a living. I proudly serve Amador and Calaveras Counties. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions you may have.
I have shot with Canon cameras since the beginning, and I proudly rock their 6D Mark ii. As far as my lenses go it depends on the job I am doing. For example, boudoir clients I often use my Canon 50mm 1.4 and for families I use my trusty Sigma 70-200mm 2.8. I generally shoot with natural light but I have artificial lighting set ups to bust out, when needed. I also have other gadgets like gimbals, tripods, monopods, microphones, remote shutters, off camera flashes, and so much more. Depending on the job I may only need a camera and tripod while other jobs may require the whole shebang, so to speak.
Plain and simple: creating art, spreading kindness, and empowering people. Through my business, I can tap into each of these passions and it gives me great joy to see the looks on my clients faces when they see their artwork for the first time. I love planning sessions with clients and executing them. I love culling down sessions, editing them, and presenting them. I love all of it!
